Thin/Short Eyelashes

Women with thin or short eyelashes endured these conditions and used mascara to temporarily thicken and lengthen their lashes. As women got older, their eyelashes became thinner, shorter and lighter in color. Eyelash hypotrichosis is the medical term for inadequate or not enough eyelashes. Until now, there was not a product approved for use on thin or short eyelashes.

Latisse is a, Federal Drug Administration, FDA-approved product that helps to grow, add fullness and give a darker appearance to the lashes. The solution is applied nightly to the upper lashes only and used regularly to maintain the new growth, fullness and darkness of the lashes.

Clinical Trials

During Phase III of Latisse’s clinical trials, 91 percent of participating women, over the age of 35, experienced more than double the fullness of their thin eyelashes. The significant improvements were seen during the 16-week clinical trials. Women with short eyelashes will also benefit from this treatment because Latisse increases the overall prominence of lashes. So, wearing cosmetic eyelashes, also known as false eyelashes, could be a thing of the past.

Latisse is only available through a doctor’s prescription. Ask if it is the right solution for your thin or short eyelashes. As with all medications, read and understand the possible side effects before using.
